Metal fragment removed during first attempted stabilisation and re-floating of the Torrey Canyon by the salvage vessel Utrecht, the metal must have been removed around the 20th March 1967. The metal fragment is in manilla envelope, labeled. The metal is heavily corroded, sticky, it smells strange. We are unclear how it reached us. Location: seven stones reef . Removed by salvage vessel Utrecht; strong odour; provenance unclear.
